By way of background, opening thoughts: Pepperwood Grove, part of the Don Sebastiani and Sons portfolio, created the Green Box series, which I have favorably reviewed in the past. Today the winery provide a tasting sample for a sister offering - The Little Green Box - from which I am sampling a pinot grigio.
Original tasting and review : This is Pepperwood Grove The Little Green Box Pinot Grigio, California, non-vintage, offered in a 500 ml box (shown on the right in photo) and finished at 12.5% alcohol.
In the glass: Clear with light yellow and vanilla accents.
On the nose: Poured cool and swirled vigorously, shows shy sweet lemon fruit. From the aroma, seems like this will be gentle and easy-going.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact full of sweet honey in the mid-palate, showing a soft, flowing nature. The finish doesn't linger, but it wraps up full and very clean.
In summary: Overall, just touches three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making it a best value.
