By way of background, opening thoughts: Limestone Coast is a somewhat less familiar region of Australia. Today we will be sampling a decade-old shiraz from that region.
In the glass: Deep, muddy magenta, almost opaque in the center.
On the nose: Poured aat room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows sweet and bright, red berries - not at all showing its age. From the aroma, seems like this will be bright, aromatic and perhaps sweet.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact gentle, soft, sweet with fresh muddled ripe strawberries and ripe currants. Clean, flush and fresh.
In summary: Overall, rates three stars for balanced red pleasantness on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale. Best value because it was acquired at a close-out price.
