By way of background, opening thoughts: I last tried Ménage a Trois about seven years ago, generating a best value designation and four star rating.

Original tasting and review : This is Folie a Deux Ménage a Trois Red Wine, California, 2010, finished at 13.5% alcohol.  It is a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from unspecified regions and vineyards.

In the glass: Ménage a Trois is deep dark red, almost opaque in the center.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows deep rich layers of dark chocolate and serious, dark fruit.  From the aroma, seems like this will be layered, bold, rich and luxurious.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact lush, rich blackberries with sweet red berry tones.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, with a massive plus for its beguiling aromatics. Easy best value at its bargain price.

Following long decant, full day kept cool in partially filled bottle:  soft spicy cinnamon fruit on the nose. Consistent fruity palate and rating.
